Alpha Dog Grooming was founded in 2005 by Daniel Pettigrew based in County Armagh, Northern Ireland. Daniel Pettigrew has worked in the Grooming Industry for over 25-years, starting his grooming career in the local salon, after which he gained a vast amount of experience and became an Award-winning Qualified Dog Groomer. Daniel is a former representative of the BDGA and has gained a variety of qualifications which include City & Guilds Level 3 Advanced Certificate in Dog Grooming, and in 2014 completed a course in Canine Studies at Queens University Belfast. Daniel opened Alpha Dog Grooming Salon fulfilling his ambition of owning a grooming salon, and before long Daniel and his team built a reputation for high class grooming service and great customer care. Daniel loves passing on his knowledge and is passionate in training and supporting others to become dog groomers supporting their own business development.

Absolutely Animals is in London, England. Heidi began this business nearly 30 years ago and is still the figurehead of the business today. Heidi believes that continual training and skills gained in seminars, examinations, demonstrations, and competitions are important in delivering a quality service to Absolutely Animals customers as well as maintaining modern styles. Absolutely Animals teach current techniques and use the most up to date equipment in delivering the iPET Network Cat Grooming Qualifications as well as teaching the tricks of the trade which come from years of practice, often grooming 30 cats per week. Absolutely Animals pride themselves in offering a friendly and relaxing place to learn, a family environment, which inspires and builds confidence for all learners, and welcome students to be part of this. Asian Fusion Grooming Limited

The Asian Fusion Grooming Academy was founded in 2020 with the goal of delivering excellent teaching of Asian fusion grooming skills online. Education director Pammie Carmichael-Hogg is a Certified Master Groomer through the International Professional Groomers Inc (IPG) and is honoured to be the first person in the United Kingdom to graduate from the prestigious Starwood Arts of Dog Grooming School (Thailand). Pammie is also the first international student to study and pass The Theory of Angles in Korean Grooming with Mrs. Suk-Hee Soo Lee in the famous Dolall Grooming School, Korea. She is also a founder board member of ICMG (UK). Pammie has gained recognition in the pet grooming industry as the creator of Asian Fusion Grooming, as well as an international educator, speaker, demonstrator, and grooming judge. In recognition of her efforts, Pammie is the proud winner of many Industry Awards. Pammie is an enthusiastic teacher and has travelled extensively both home and internationally helping and teaching stylists. We are professional, qualified dog & cat grooming salon and grooming training school in Ardrossan, Scotland. Pamela, our owner, is a committee member of the British Dog Grooming Association, where she attends regular meetings to help assist the grooming industry. She is also a member of the National Association of Professional Creative Grooming (NAPCG). Pamela has also gained certification in movement and confirmation through the kennel club and is certified in canine first aid.

Grace Gallagher has spent her entire career at the coal-face of, service excellence, hospitality and professional development. Graduating with a degree in hotel management, Grace became one of Ireland’s youngest hotel general managers where her keen interest in professional development excelled in building high performing teams. In 2006, Grace followed this passion for learning and development becoming a Partner in Conor Kenny & Associates, an award winning professional development company. Graces’ love of learning and long held ambition to create and build a training academy has been realised with her ownership of Barker & Bowes which, under her direction, was voted Limerick’s Retailer of the Year 2020 by the local Enterprise Board. Amber started her career as hair dresser (for humans) before finding her true passion, glamming up those fur babies! Amber is a married mum of two girls and obsessed with all things Disney. She also owns three pups of her own – Pansy, Luna and Dottie. Amber is so excited to be setting up her training academy in Titchfield and can’t wait to get to know the local community of dog owners/lovers and to be training aspiring groomers!

Barking Marvellous Grooming School

Barking Marvellous was established in 2011 and are keen advocates of education in the grooming industry. Sarah Woods holds the City and Guilds Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming and Joanne is currently completing the OCN Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming. Both tutors hold the City and Guilds Level 3 Award in Education & Training and attend educational seminars and grooming competitions to further their CPD. Beautipets Dog Grooming

Leah Doran is the founder of Beautipets Dog Grooming based in Motherwell which was established in 2000. After Leah was made redundant from a previous role, this provided Leah the opportunity to undertake her dog grooming training. Leah first realised she wanted to become a dog groomer in her late teens, after owning her own dog and often wondering how the groomer could make such a transformation. Leah explains that dog grooming is a passion and the days in the grooming salon are never the same and Leah is passionate and has continued commitment in the industry for anyone wishing to pursue a career in dog grooming. Leah also shows her owns Bichon Frise dogs at kennel Club shows and also participates in Dog Grooming competitions up and down the country.

Calderdale College

Calderdale College is a General Further Education College based in the West Yorkshire town of Halifax in the North of England. The college offers a broad education programmes from Entry Level through to Post-Graduate, along with Apprenticeships from Level 2 to Level 5. The Science & Animal Care department offer qualifications in Land-Based Studies, Animal Care & Management and Dog Grooming. On average, dog owners spend between £30-£50 on grooming their fur babies in salons every 4-8 weeks, taking it up to £600 annually. Chris the founder of Canine Care Training Centre and Dog and Bone Grooming has been grooming on a professional basis for 15 years. Canine Holistic Science Academy

Caroline is an Author, Speaker and Pet Industry Nutrition Consultant working with large brands internationally and many start-up brands. Supporting product formulation, development and company nutrition standards. She has been teaching and leading training courses for both the pet retail trade and the public sector for over 20 years, specialising in natural pet care, diet and nutrition. As a Nutritional Therapist she also works with pets and their guardians to improve well-being through diet.

Canny Cuts Dog Grooming

Mel opened Canny Cuts Dog Grooming in November 2011 as a small, home based salon after leaving the British Army. Within 6 months, the business had grown so much that a shop salon was needed, and it has grown from strength to strength and now has an additional 6 members of staff. Mel holds the full City & Guild Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming and is looking to work towards the LCGI qualification. She has given grooming demonstrations at various events such as Crufts and PATs and she sat on the BDGA committee for several years pre-covid19. Mel has gained experience teaching her own employees and apprentices over the past few years.

Clicktrain K9 Centre

Clicktrain K9 Centre was founded in 2018 by John and Sheilagh Goodwin as a family business and offers dog day care, grooming and dog training from Bonnybridge in the Central Belt of Scotland. Sheilagh has been helping people train their dogs for 30 years and has learnt from renowned behaviourist John Rogerson as well as training with and qualifying with the Institute of Modern Dog Trainers. Sheilagh is also a qualified as a Superdogs Trainer, Dog Training College Approved Trainer and a Wag it Dogs Instructor, also working towards accreditation with the Kennel Club Accredited Instructors scheme. Sheilagh is the tutor at the centre and has a passion for helping people train their own Assistance Dogs which she has been doing the past 5 years and trained in 2018 for dog grooming after they opened the Centre having grown their grooming clientele. Sheilagh’s husband, John started supporting in classes in 2017 and is the Manager at the Centre, dealing with dog transport, working with the dogs and finds interacting with both staff and clients extremely rewarding and is often found in reception area and manning the shop. Both Sheilagh and John are driven to promote kind, motivational dog handling, grooming, training in all aspects of canine care. Their aim is to help both dog owners and other professionals gain knowledge, skills with recognised qualifications in every area of the canine world.

Angie is originally from Hong Kong, she moved to Birmingham UK and since then her world changed dramatically making dogs her priority. Angie has been running Cutie Dogs Ltd since July 2007. Since 2013 Angie has been privately teaching students to learn dog grooming and been offering Ofqual qualifications since 2017. Angie can speak English, Cantonese and Mandarin which helps her communicate with customers and understanding other educational material. Angie loves learning from other dog groomers and always wants to keep improving. Owning 7 dogs Angie is a huge dog lover and they go to work with her as the dog models sometimes.

Stacey has been an animal lover since a young child, which lead to a career with animals in 2003, studying as a Veterinary Nurse. Having worked in a private practice for many years, working four years at the RSPCA animal hospital in Birmingham. Stacey wanted to develop training, knowledge and skills further and spent eight months in Queensland Australia practising as a Veterinary Nurse in an emergency hospital, what an experience that was! After 10 years as a Veterinary Nurse, a change of direction led to training as a dog groomer. Initially an in-house groomer for numerous years and then branched out offering mobile grooming with a luxury salon on wheels. The business grew and grew which lead to where Stacey is today, owning a salon, Dazzling Dogs in Kingswinford. Qualified in Animal First Aid, City & Guilds Level 2 and an iPET Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming & Salon Management. Stacey is so excited to be able to offer other like-minded individuals the opportunity to qualify, groom & care for animals to a high standard, always putting their animals & customers first. Helping others build a successful business, has always been a passion for Stacey, supporting others to fulfil their dreams too.

Designer Paws

Orlaith Keenan, the founder of Designer Paws, started her career having two part-time roles, which were in a veterinary clinic and a dog grooming salon and these provided Orlaith with valuable hands-on experience. The dream was to one day have her own salon and in 2008 this dream came true when Designer Paws was launched. Orlaith has competed and judged in many grooming competitions both in Ireland, England and, more recently, in online competitions worldwide, holding the title of Irish Groomer of the year twice and Best in Show groomer three times to add to her achievements. Orlaith is a progressing FCI judge, to judge all sizes of Poodles under IKC/FCI rules. Orlaith grooms multiple different breeds at breed standard for the show ring to support them to their Championship titles. In her spare time Orlaith shows Miniature/Medium Poodles in Ireland, England and Europe under IKC/FCI/KC rules. Orliath often holds grooming demonstrations and workshops in coat preparation, scissor technique, pet grooms, breed standard grooms such as Poodles, Kerry Blues and Wheaten Terriers to name just a few.

DMG Pet Grooming and Training

Denise has been grooming for over 20 years, DMG Pet Grooming and Training school accommodates for dogs and cats (with their own separate room) . She also provides sessions for owners to learn how to groom their own dogs as well as 1-1 sessions for fellow grooming professionals to freshen up their skills. Denise is the co owner of UK Cat Grooming Training with renowned groomer Julie Harris. Denise achieved her level 3 diploma in dog grooming and is a certified Feline Master Groomer after attending and completing her training in South Carolina USA with NCGIA with Danelle German. Denise is an International Certified Master Groomer as recognised by the ICMG UK and holds the higher Diploma in Dog Grooming.

Dog Business School

The Dog Business School was born in 2019 after its founder, Dr Randle Stonier, who is also a dog walker, licensed boarder and day care provider set out to provide a range of courses and services that make a difference in the growth and development of dog care professionals. Their approach is to combine the theory mixed with a blend of different learning media and the practical reality that comes from hands-on experience as canine, business and education specialists. Kate Middleton, the Course Leader at the Dog Business School has a PGCE, an MSc in Animal Behaviour and Welfare and a BSc in Animal Science and she also runs a full time dog walking and pet sitting business in Essex.

Dog-a-Holic Grooming Academy

After a 10 year career as a Prison Officer Amanda decided to change her career completely and retrain to become a Dog Groomer. In 5 years Amanda has an established Dog Grooming business and employs 3 full time staff, 2 of which she trained in house. Amanda also works with the local colleges providing work experience opportunities. From the beginning Amanda has had the passion to become a trainer. She wanted to be in a position where I could transform someone's career/life by giving them the opportunity to become a qualified Dog Groomer.

Dogoholics Dog Grooming and Training

Lucy is the founder of Dogoholics Dog Groomer Training School based in Hull which was established in April 2021. A small and relaxed school where Lucy teaches on two learner to one tutor basis. Lucy always knew that she wanted to work with dogs and this goal was achieved by the age of 30, during this time Lucy has achieved her City & Guilds Introduction levels and taking further training proving to be natural in her skills while achieving distinctions and merits for passing her Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming. Lucy continued her journey and started Teacher Training and becoming employed at Hull College and gaining the Level 5 Teaching qualification. Lucy has gained over 10 year’s experience and is passionate about helping new dog groomers achieve their goals. To add to Lucy’s achievements also includes dog training classes, basic obedience and agility training.

Dublin Dog Grooming

Carol grooms both dogs and cats and is a multi award winning groomer in both the north and the south of Ireland in several classes including creative. She is also a committee member of the IPDGA (Irish Professional Dog Groomers Association) and on the committee of the Poodle Club of Ireland. Carol shows Apricot Poodles and has made up all her dogs to International & Irish Champions. Originally Carol started Deerfield Kennels in Dublin which was a hugely successful boarding and daycare facility and then added on Dublin Dog Grooming, In 2019 she opened a dedicated Grooming Salon in the beautiful coastal town in South Dublin and is delighted with the outcome. High quality grooming, understanding pets and their welfare and educating students to be able to do the same are all Carols passions and her main focus.

Michelle the head tutor started grooming over 20 years ago, and since then Michelle has done many animal related jobs including a veterinary assistant & working with wildlife. Her main passion is with teaching dog grooming. Michelle has taught as the Development Manager in the South East Region for a large cooperate company, and City & Guilds level 2 & 3 at Hadlow College, as well as teaching the iPET NETWORK qualifications at Four Paws Groom School Kent. Michelle has a BSc Hons in Animal Management, C&G Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming, and a level 4 City & Guilds teaching qualification. Michelle is also studying for her PIF Higher Diploma. Michelle in her spare time enjoys showing dogs, she has shown Rough Collies, Pomeranians and Maltese. Michelle also has a large interest in Cat Breeds and has owned 5 different breeds.

Goldie’s Grooming Academy

Goldie's Grooming Academy will be specialising in our brand new Cat Grooming qualifications and a range of short course including Hand Stripping, Microchip implantation and Canine / Feline Emergency First Aid. Sarah Goldsborough has a huge passion for all things animals, she has been working as a Dog and Cat groomer and Microchip implanter since 2006.

Goody 4 Paws Ltd Training Academy

Goody 4 Paws Ltd Training Academy is owned and run by Sonja Oliver. Over the last 35 years, Sonja has gained a great deal of experience within different animal care settings such as rescue and rehabilitation, equestrian centres, animal care colleges and the veterinary sector, where she worked as a Practice Nurse for 30 years before moving to a more senior role as Practice Manager. Sonja is a Kennel Club approved international judge and has won such prestigious awards as 'Best of Breed' at Crufts with dogs that she bred and exhibited herself. Sonja has groomed dogs since she was a teenager and opened her first salon in 1998. In August of 2011 she opened Goody 4 Paws above her local veterinary practice and moved all operations to her purpose-built academy in the summer of 2019. Goody 4 Paws is now a multi-disciplined animal service, offering grooming courses, boarding and day creche.

Groom Dog City

Groom Dog City will be offering the Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming and Salon Management Fast Track which will be available to all experienced groomers. Stuart the owner and tutor at Groom Dog City is proud to have been at the forefront of the British Grooming Industry for many years. Having entered it from another creative industry, he recognised comparisons within the two and has worked hard to try to change its public profile from hobbyist to highly skilled by creating The Groomers Spotlight. Gwenan Evans is a Registered Veterinary Nurse and the owner of Gwen’s Choice Canine Health and Nutrition. Gwen’s Choice was founded in 2021 when Gwen established her own brand of dog food and has now expanded her small business to become a Training Provider with iPET Network, delivering Canine Emergency First Aid courses to both dog owners and pet professionals. Having started her veterinary nursing career as an auxiliary nurse in a mixed practice in North Wales in 1995 and fully qualifying as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in January 2000, Gwenan is still currently working on a part time basis as a Head Nurse today! Cheryl the head tutor and owner of My SGA is very passionate about animals, owning 6 dogs and a horse. In 2017 Cheryl started her business Samco Pet Spa (AKA My SGA). Cheryl holds the OCNWM Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming, Certified Advanced Professional Groomer Certificate and is also an Award Winning Groomer. She specialises in breed standard grooms, hand stripping and teddy grooming. National Horse Racing College

Oaklands College is an FE college which includes Land-based industries, situated on a 300 acre farm land in leafy St.Albans. Pawfect Style Dog Grooming Academy

Pawfect Style was founded in 2008. Head stylist, Kirsty, has been involved with dogs since the age of 5. She has won numerous awards showing her poodles including making up champions, numerous Best In Show awards including winning the Junior (YKC) Best In Show at CRUFTS 2000 and Reserve Best In Show at CRUFTS 2001 and now judges poodles at Championship Level. In 2008 Kirsty opened Pawfect Style in a tiny little shop in South Shields. Within 3 years she was so busy she had to move to bigger premises to be able to take on new clients. In 2012 to 2014 Kirsty completed her City & Guilds level 3 and Diploma. Not to stop there, Kirsty decided to carry on her education and start her route to International Master Groomer. Tara from Petmania has 15 years of Dog Grooming experience. She started working as a Dog Groomer in Petmania in 2008 and in 2015 they created an internal Grooming Training Academy to train the next generation of groomers with Petmania to a higher level of grooming. Tara’s passion for grooming and ensuring standards are kept high has led to her current career as a full-time trainer. In 2017, Tara completed a City and Guilds qualification and achieved a Level 3 Diploma for Professional Dog Stylists. Tara became a Canine First Responder instructor in 2017 with MJ First aid Training. Tara also entered a competition in 2018 through the IPDGA and placed 4th in the open-clipped class with a little Scottie called George. Jen Murphy is the owner of The Barking Boutique and has always had a huge passion for animals. Jen has a wealth of experience: she is qualified as a horse riding instructor, has veterinary experience, and an Honours Degree in Zoology. After completing her degree, Jen decided to change her career path and focus on her passion for dogs. Having dogs all her life, she had a huge love for them. Jen started working as a prepper in 2015 at Muttugly and then went on to complete a City and Guilds Level 3 Introductory qualification where she expanded her knowledge about health care and began learning different grooming techniques and all the different breed standard trims. After she qualified she began grooming full-time at Muttugly. Later on, Jen started a training position at Muttugly School for Groomers, this is where she fell in love with teaching. While teaching part-time in the training school, Jen opened her own shop called Murphy’s Mutts in 2017. After a very successful year, she decided to focus solely on Murphy’s Mutts along with completing a Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming and Salon Management. In 2022 Murphy’s Mutts moved and was rebranded to The Barking Boutique, with a brand new grooming salon opening in Naas. After a very successful first year, Jen has decided to revisit her love for teaching and has now opened The Barking Boutique Academy under iPET Network. Jen is hoping to share all of her knowledge with future groomers and help them find the same passion she has for grooming and pursue their dreams.

The College of West Anglia

The College of West Anglia specialises in land based courses at their Cambridge campus, including animal care, equine management, dog grooming and animal science. Tutor Colette Vaissiere (RVN, IQA) qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2010 and worked in veterinary practice for 14 years. During her time in practice, Colette worked as a head veterinary nurse, practice manager and clinical coach. She enjoyed training future veterinary nurses, promoting nurse clinics, especially improving feline friendly practice and emergency care of patients. Colette has worked at the College of West Anglia as a lecturer for the nearly three years and teaches on a range of animal related qualifications that support the health and welfare of animals. She is passionate about helping learners achieve their full potential. Tutor Dr Stella Chapman (MRCVS, BVSc (Hons), MSc, PGCE, PgCert Teaching and Learning, FHEA) is a veterinarian with a keen interest in animal welfare, which has developed over the past ten years to focus on the area of veterinary shelter medicine for her PhD. Stella has worked mainly in an educational setting for the past ten years and is a firm believer that education is a powerful tool to advocate for animal welfare and as a result change the lives of both people and animals. Stella is a keen researcher and has published in various journals on a wide range of subjects and has written a book on handling and restraint of animals.

Amy began her veterinary career in 2011 as an Auxiliary Nurse before beginning her student nurse training at Myerscough College of Veterinary Nursing in Preston, Lancashire in 2012. Amy qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2015 and moved from first opinion nursing to emergency and critical care at a local out of hours hospital. Shortly after, she began an industry recognised certificate in small animal emergency and critical care (Cert VNECC) which she achieved in 2019. Amy has a passion for canine first aid and launched her own limited company in 2020, delivering dog first aid courses across North East England and surrounding areas to owners and canine professionals as well as supplying a range of dog first aid kits and supplies. Maxine has come from an extensive equine-based background, having horses all her life, previously owning, and running a Riding School and Livery yard while teaching and assessing, however as a true dog lover Maxine decided that dog grooming was the career path she really wanted to follow. Vanity Furr was originally set up at Hill Farm Riding Centre, Norfolk. This is where Maxine grew her customer base and knowledge, as well as running an Equine establishment. Maxine has prior experience teaching and assessing students as a dog grooming tutor, delivering iPET Network qualifications. In this position, Maxine grew her knowledge and understanding and is currently studying the iPET Network Level 4 Higher Diploma in Dog Grooming. Maxine has decided to reopen her own modern salon in her hometown of Wymondham in September 2022 and her business has grown from strength to strength.
