A ‘by grooming professionals for grooming professionals' training provider is expanding its reach and has teamed up with the national Animal Courses Direct brand to offer students iPET Network Ofqual regulated qualifications.

Animal Courses Direct has joined forces with Four Paws Groom School and Pet Training Courses to deliver the practical element of the iPET Network dog grooming qualifications.

iPET Network is an Awarding Organisation set up by groomers Fern Gresty and Sarah Mackay, who are working hard to set the industry standard high for a range of animal services.

As well as qualifications in pet grooming, iPET Network offers courses including Canine Nutrition, Dog First Aid and Dog Walking, which help to level-up a whole range of pet-based businesses.

Sarah and Fern said: "We are absolutely thrilled to have teamed up with three amazing education providers, all of whom have seen the benefits and excellence of the qualifications we offer.

"Our courses are created by people who work in the industry and are delivered in a way which allows existing professionals to level up, as well as welcoming brand new people into the industry with open arms."

The three new Level 3 Ofqual-regulated qualifications are Introduction to Dog Grooming, Dog Grooming and Introduction to Styling and Dog Grooming and Salon Management.

Each of the courses have different lengths of practical time in the industry, from five days to thirty days, all of which will be spent at a Four Paws Groom School or Pet Training Courses location currently centralised in Cheshire.

The courses are open to anyone aged 16 or over, and are being billed as a great alternative for school leavers who want to obtain an A-Level equivalent.

But the courses will also appeal to the legions of people who have reconsidered their lives during the lockdowns, or been put out of work due to changes in their existing industry.

Learning is flexible and can be booked to suit the needs of the student, meaning that courses can be fitted in around existing employment.

Kim Pearce, Director at Animal Courses Direct, said: “Animal Courses Direct is passionate about improving the standards of animal welfare through education.

"We are delighted to now be offering 3 pioneering Ofqual approved Dog Grooming qualifications newly developed by the sector-specific Awarding Organisation, iPET Network.

“The qualifications include valuable hands-on training, and the materials place specific emphasis on the care and welfare of dogs; this aligns with our ethos of ensuring excellent standards of care for animals across the sector through the provision of quality training provision.”
