iPET Network Level 3 Award in an Introduction to Cat Grooming - Qualification Number 603/7569/3 (link to qualification on Ofqual register)

The qualification is designed for Candidates who wish to gain the skills and knowledge to prepare, style and finish several cat breeds and understand health and safety in a cat grooming salon. The qualification is a combination of practical and theory teaching. 

iPET Network are proud to have developed this NEW qualification in the Animal Care and Veterinary Science sector. Candidates will groom at least 3 cats to include a minimum of 2 different breeds, covering 2 different coat types.  There are no pre-requisites to starting the qualification, meaning candidates can join at level 3 without having completed a lower level (level 2) course first.

Candidates will be trained in practical skills such as prepping, bathing, scissoring, clipping, styling and nail trimming on several cat breeds.

Units included within this qualification are:

334: Feline Handling, Health and Welfare

335: Prepare, Style and Finish Several Cat Breeds

337: Health and Safety in a Cat Grooming Environment 

Uniquely, candidates are continually assessed via practical demonstration and coursework. There is no requirement to sit a formal exam in order to achieve the qualification. This holistic approach has been welcomed by candidates to our Training Provider from across the UK, Ireland and Internationally. iPET Network designed the qualification to have an excellent balance of theoretical and practical learning. Feedback suggests that this qualification takes the pressure out of adult learning and this approach appeals to a wide range of Candidates. Our Training Providers are striving to improve industry standards by ensuring Candidates gain the required qualification and become confident and competent in cat grooming.

The iPET Network Level 3 Award in an Introduction to Cat Grooming will demonstrate to an employer or the general public that Candidates have a basic understanding of cat grooming principles.  Candidates will leave with a basic knowledge base to continue learning or working in the Cat Grooming Industry. It has been designed specifically for those looking to start the journey into Cat Grooming or those who already groom cats (as a hobby) but would like to gain a nationally recognised qualification. 

iPET Network Level 3 Award in an Introduction to Cat Grooming - Qualification Specification

The units and evidence completed as part of the iPET Network Level 3 Award in an Introduction to Cat Grooming can be recognised as prior learning should a Candidate want to progress and complete the iPET Network Level 3 Certificate in Cat Grooming and Introduction to Styling qualification or the iPET Network Level 3 Diploma in Cat Grooming and Salon Management qualification. The Candidate would need to complete additional training with a recognsied Training Provider and complete additional units.
