The iPET Network Level 3 Certificate in Cat Grooming and an Introduction to Styling is ideal for those who are new to cat grooming and want to gain the core skills and knowledge required to prepare, style, and finish a variety of cat breeds. The qualification is also suitable for experienced cat groomers seeking to formalise their skills through a regulated qualification.

Learners will develop an understanding of feline welfare, health, and handling, alongside best practice principles of health and safety in a professional grooming environment.

This qualification is designed to be flexible to meet the real-life needs and circumstances of its Learners.

This qualification is suitable for individuals aiming to start their own cat grooming business as well as those looking to secure employment in an established salon.

Learners must:

  • Be capable of working at a Level 3 or above
  • Be able to complete the assessments for this qualification in English

Fast-track route

The iPET Network Level 3 Certificate in Cat Grooming and an Introduction to Styling can be offered as a ‘Fast-Track’ option. The Learner must demonstrate the following to prove eligibility for the Fast Track option of delivery:

  • Approximately 1 years’ experience of cat grooming (this may be part time or full time) demonstrated through a range of evidence provided
  • Photo evidence showcasing a sufficient breadth and standard of grooms, including different breeds and styles, bath and brush/de-shed, lion trims, matted cat and nervous cat handling
  • Customer reviews and/or employer reference
