Dealing with someone who breaks down in tears in front of you is a challenging situation, especially when that person is a client at your workplace. So, how can you effectively support them while maintaining professionalism?
This concise course aims to equip individuals working in veterinary practices, rehoming centers, or pet crematoriums with the necessary skills to assist clients who may be experiencing a range of emotions after losing a pet or facing an impending loss. The course focuses on building your confidence in handling distressed clients and providing appropriate support or guidance when necessary.
Throughout the course, you will have the opportunity to enhance your communication skills, including empathy and active listening. Although the primary emphasis is on face-to-face interactions, valuable insights for supporting clients through phone and written communication are also included.
Please note that this course is not a counselling qualification.
