Mission Accomplished: Scotland's Police Dogs Are Now Safer Than Ever!
At iPET Network, we are incredibly proud to celebrate a major milestone in canine welfare and professional training. Next month, our approved Training Provider, The Dog First Aid Co., will complete the training of every single Police Dog Handler in Scotland in life-saving dog first aid, a huge achievement for the safety of the nation’s working dogs.
Through the delivery of the iPET Network Level 3 Award in Canine First Aid, an Ofqual-regulated qualification, around 80 dedicated Police Dog Handlers will have gained the essential skills and confidence to respond effectively in emergency situations involving their canine partners.
This certification is valid for three years and represents the gold standard in professional dog first aid training setting a new benchmark for operational preparedness and animal welfare within Police Scotland.
But the commitment to safety doesn’t stop there. Every Police Scotland canine vehicle has now been equipped with a fully stocked, comprehensive dog first aid kit, ensuring that trained handlers have immediate access to veterinary-designed supplies whenever they’re needed most.
This initiative highlights the shared mission between iPET Network and The Dog First Aid Co. to ensure that every working dog and handler has access to the highest level of certified training and resources to keep our four-legged heroes safe on the front line.
And this work continues beyond Scotland. This summer, The Dog First Aid Co. also delivered iPET Network qualification to teams from Northumbria Police, Cleveland Police, and UK Prison Dog Units, further expanding the reach of this vital qualification.
We are honoured to see our qualifications making such a tangible difference to animal welfare, public safety, and professional standards across the UK.
Together, we’re making sure those who protect us and their loyal canine partners are trained, prepared, and supported to the highest standard.
